People often ask me what Kuzina à la Grecque is and what it means to me.
The name itself comes from culinary terminology. À la grecque is a classic international cooking term used to describe dishes prepared with olive oil, lemon, and fragrant herbs.
For me, however, Kuzina à la Grecque represents something far deeper.
After spending decades in professional kitchens throughout Greece, I gradually witnessed our traditional cuisine lose some of the place it rightfully deserves. In our pursuit of innovation and recognition, we have sometimes forgotten that the greatest dishes are often the simplest ones—those built on honest ingredients, sound technique, and authentic flavor.
Today, social media constantly encourages us to create food that captures attention. Sometimes, the need to surprise has become more important than the pleasure of eating itself. Yet the dishes we truly remember are rarely the most extravagant. They are the ones that speak through their flavor, awaken memories, and bring people together around the table.
That is the philosophy behind Kuzina à la Grecque.
I firmly believe that exceptional cooking doesn’t have to be complicated. It begins with respect for quality ingredients, continues with proper technique, and is completed with patience, balance, and simplicity. That’s where authentic flavor is born.
Cooking has always been my life’s journey. It is how I learned, how I evolved, and how I continue to express myself every single day. Kuzina à la Grecque is, therefore, the cuisine of my heart—a celebration of Greek tradition, fresh seasonal ingredients, and recipes that bring back the warmth and comfort of home.
My hope is that these recipes will help older generations rediscover the flavors they grew up with, while inspiring younger cooks to appreciate the timeless value of honest, home-cooked food.
Because in the end, the finest meal is never simply the one on the plate.
It’s the one shared with the people we love.
