Cook the pasta in a large pan of salted boiling water according to pack instructions until al dente.

Meanwhile heat the olive oil in a wide pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and fry gently for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in the chopped tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and simmer for 8–10 minutes until slightly thickened.

Stir in the cream and parmesan and cook for 2–3 minutes more until the sauce is silky.

Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of cooking water. Toss the pasta through the sauce, adding a splash of cooking water if needed.

Fold through the torn basil leaves, check the seasoning and serve immediately.
